Pet of the month: Tiik (pronounced teek)

Tiik (pronounced teek) is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois who has a love for life, adventure, and his family. Tiik loves his after-dinner orchard strolls with his family, including his labrador brother. He has a natural passion to protect his family and did so to the fullest extent last November when he took on a mountain lion in his backyard that resulted in a broken paw. This led to in an extensive surgery, detailed recovery, and weekly vet visits to see his favorite people, including Miss Renee. Tiik has made a full recovery and continues to have daily joy. When Tiik is not snuggling with mom or dad, he is hunting squirrels or playing with his favorite toys which include a fire hose, pineapple, and a red bone. One of Tiik’s lifelong dreams is to be able to visit his homeland and indulge in Belgian waffles.

 As Tiiks parents, we would like to express our deep appreciation for the entire staff of Gold Country Vet Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Uhl and Dr. Wallace who walked us through challenging decisions and prioritized Tiik’s health. Angela, Natalie, and Renee, your encouragement and positive spirits on a weekly basis helped us tremendously as we walked through one of our most challenging seasons. We are forever grateful for the impact Gold Country Vet Hospital had on our family.

  • We offer emergency care during business hours.

    We provide emergency services to new and established patients during our regular business hours. Whether it’s treating a bite wound, fracture, allergic reaction, poisoning, or other emergency, we will never turn a patient away. If you are bringing a pet in for an emergency, please call us first to let the Doctor know the type and severity of the emergency so we can begin preparing for your pet’s arrival.
